Please note that the conference will not be taking place on 4th April 2020 due to the Coronavirus situation. We are looking to reschedule for the Autumn. More details to follow.
Due to our speaker being unavailable, and because the original date was Good Friday (when the RGS cannot accommodate us) the April 10th meeting has been put back by one week and we are pleased to welcome Chris Wilkinson to speak:
THE BUTTS BRANCH, WORCESTER
A presentation of the Butts Spur line railway which ran alongside the River Severn from 1862 to the 1960s.
Chris Wilkinson: Worcester Locomotive Society
Friday 17th April 2020
Please note that Mike Napthan will be delivering his talk on the industrial archaeology of Shrub Hill Station, which was postponed from December. He will be invited to speak on the topic of Worcester Castle at a future date.
Due to the icy roads and pavements, Christine has decided to cancel the meeting which was to take place this Friday 15th.
In addition to the weather conditions the school breaks up tomorrow, so the staff will not be on site to gritt the car park etc.
We are sorry you will miss your mulled wine and mince pies, but Christine has promised a "treat" in January.

I'm sorry to tell you that our speaker for tonight has been taken ill.
At short notice Mike Napthan, a local archaeologist will speak on Worcester Castle and an update on the origins of Worcester. It sounds interesting.
I look forward to seeing you tonight. The Newsletter and Summer Programme will be available for those who have hard copy and the email versions will be sent later today.
This is to inform members that the meeting on the 13th March 2015 is actually the Annual General Meeting. The advertised talk by Wendy Cook has also been replaced: Mike Jackson will talk and show a short film on “M5 Sights” and
John Mason will show a short film of him learning to drive a London bus! These will follow immediately after the AGM. A formal calling notice will be issued soon, but members wishing to submit formal motions for consideration should inform the Secretary by 20th February 2015.
